Privacy Manifesto
Effective Date: April 2026
01. Radical Local Processing
At VoltScan, privacy isn't a setting—it's the architecture. Your documents never touch our servers because **we don't have servers.**
On-Device OCR
Text recognition happens using your phone's neural engine. No data leaves the device.
Zero Observation
Since files are local, no one—not even the developers—can see what you scan.
02. What data do we collect?
Since we have **no user accounts**, our data footprint is nearly zero. We only interact with:
- No Email / No Phone Numbers
- No Document Metadata Collection
- Anonymous Analytics: Only crash reports and basic usage patterns to improve performance (e.g., "how many times was the signature tool used").
03. Payment & Billing Privacy
Subscriptions are processed through the official app stores. VoltScan does not possess your financial identity.
Billing is tied to your Apple ID or Google Account. We only receive a confirmation token to activate your features.
04. Device Permissions
To function, VoltScan requires access to:
- Camera: For document capture only. The feed is processed in real-time RAM and never recorded elsewhere.
- Storage/Files: To save your finished PDFs to your gallery or local folder.
- Biometrics: If you enable App Lock, your fingerprint/FaceID data is handled by the OS; the App never sees your biometric data.
05. Third-Party Disclosures
We do not sell, trade, or share your data with advertisers. Because we do not store your data, there is no database for us to leak or sell. The only third parties involved are Google/Apple for payment processing and optional crash reporting (Sentry/Firebase).
Encryption is a Human Right
