Terms of Service
Please review our decentralized service architecture terms before using VoltScan.
1. Nature of Service
VoltScan ("the App") is a local-first utility. By using the App, you acknowledge that all document processing, including scanning via camera, OCR, and PDF manipulation, occurs exclusively on your physical device. We do not provide cloud storage, and we do not have access to your camera feed or the resulting files.
2. No User Accounts
VoltScan does not require or support user accounts. We do not store your identity. This means:
- • There is no "Login" to recover data.
- • If the App is deleted, all locally stored document metadata is permanently erased.
- • You are 100% responsible for backing up your own documents.
3. Impossible Data Recovery
Because we operate on a Zero-Knowledge architecture, VoltScan cannot retrieve lost documents. We do not have a "Trash" folder on our side or any backup servers. If you lose your phone or delete a file within the app, it is gone forever. We recommend using your OS-level backup (iCloud/Google Drive) for file safety.
4. Subscriptions & Payments
Premium features are handled via the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. By purchasing, you agree to:
- Billing: Handled entirely by the platform (Google/Apple). We never see your credit card info.
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled via your Store Settings.
- Refunds: Since access is granted immediately, refunds must be requested through the App Store/Play Store support channels.
5. Permitted Use
The camera-based scanning must be used for legal purposes only. You may not use VoltScan to process forged documents, copyrighted materials without permission, or any content that violates international laws. Since processing is local, you are the sole legal entity responsible for the content generated.
6. Limitation of Liability
VoltScan is provided "AS IS". We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free. In no event shall VoltScan be liable for any loss of data, hardware damage, or indirect damages arising from the use of our local-processing engine.
7. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union. Any disputes will be settled in the competent courts of Bucharest, Romania. We reserve the right to update these terms to reflect new on-device features.
